massage & wellness
Let us help you relax into growth and healing.
The fast-paced world had us convinced that rest is something we have to earn or that pain in our bodies is a default. They are not. Our wellness programs are designed to bring benefits: pain relief, stress reduction, deep relaxation, spiritual healing, and more.
Deep Tissue Massage
For pain relief and tension release.
Deep tissue massage is designed to relieve pain and muscle tension throughout the body. This type of massage is extremely beneficial because it reaches the deepest layer of muscles, fascia (connective tissue surrounding the joints) and tendons. The goal in deep tissue massage is to breakdown adhesions which cause pain, inflammation and limit motion of the muscles and joints.
Thai Yoga Bodywork
For deep relaxation and overall wellbeing.
Thai Yoga Bodywork began to evolve in Thailand over 2,000 years ago. Based on healing principles similar to those utilized in other non-western healing therapies, the Thai system focuses on the circulation of vital energy in major pathways called sen. The major energy lines are manipulated, and important pressure points along these pathways are stimulated to help break down blockages, stimulate energy flow and restore balance and harmony.
Yoga Therapy
For deep relaxation and chronic pain
Yoga therapy is described by the International
Association of Yoga Therapy (IAYT) as “the
application of Yogic principles to a particular person
with the objective of achieving a particular spiritual,
psychological, or physiological goal”. Goals may
include stress reduction, pain management, lowering
anxiety and depression, management of chronic
illness, or simply a desire to increase overall health
and wellbeing.
Individual sessions are tailored to the client based
on intake form answers, and may include asana
(physical poses), pranayama (breath work), mudra
(subtle flow of energy), meditation, and life style
recommendations. The client is empowered by
taking an active role in their own healing process.
Swedish
Massage
For circulation and stress reduction.
The main purpose of a full-body Swedish massage is to increase the oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles. Swedish massage shortens recovery time from muscular strain by flushing the tissues of lactic acid, uric acid, and other metabolic wastes. It increases circulation without increasing heart load. It stretches the ligaments and tendons keeping them supple and pliable. It reduces stress, both emotional and physical, and is recommended for one’s regular stress management program.
Foot Zone /
Reflexology
For circulation and pain relief.
Reflexology dates back five thousand years and was used in ancient China and India. It is based on the premise that energy flows through the body in meridians from the brain to the feet. Every organ and cell has a representative point. On the foot, and when pressure is applied, the brain sends a signal to the corresponding part of the body to facilitate healing and restore balance. Temporary pain, defined also as a blockage of energy flow, is felt on areas of the foot that correspond to the affected organ or body part. When the pain is relieved or reduced, the healing process has begun.
Jin Shin Jyutsu
For deep relaxation and well being
A "flow" is a series of hand placement combinations (using the safety energy locks) that stimulates circulation of energy along a given pathway. There are many such pathways in the body, each with a distinct function or essence.
The experience of Jin Shin Jyutsu is unique to each person. The most common effect is that of deep relaxation and well being.
Jin Shin Jyutsu is not a physical manipulation of tissue and uses only light touch. The hands are used as jumper cables, contacting 26 safety energy locks to redirect, or unblock the flow of energy along its pathways.
Practitioners of Jin Shin Jyutsu are not the "do-ers", they simply assist in the flow of an infinite supply of universal energy. This process does not affect the practitioner's personal supply of energy.
Prenatal
Massage
For an overall healthy pregnancy.
Massage therapy during pregnancy is a wonderful complementary choice for prenatal care. It is a healthy way to reduce stress and promote overall wellness. Massage relieves many of the normal discomforts experienced during pregnancy, such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches and edema. In addition, massage reduces stress on weight-bearing joints, encourages blood and lymph circulation, helps to relax nervous tension-which aids in better sleep-and can help relieve depression or anxiety caused by hormonal changes.
